Ankit's Bio

Ankit is a tremendously accomplished mechanical engineer who tutors simply because he enjoys it. He holds a BS in mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Delhi, earning a silver medal for his excellent GPA; and he holds an MS in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois. Since graduating in 2011, Ankit has worked as a mechanical engineer for a Fortune 500 company, has published over 30 journal and conference papers, and has been granted 25 patents in the area of environmentally conscious refrigerants. He simply loves tutoring, so he seeks out these opportunities in addition to his main job. In fact, since 2019, Ankit has tutored STEM students from the elementary school level to the college level. In addition to tutoring elementary math and science, he has tutored all levels of high school and college math, AP physics, AP chemistry, and mechanical engineering, among other subjects.
Ankit’s connection to instruction began when he was an undergraduate student, as he sought to help his peers along the way. “It was during my own academic years,” he says, “that I cultivated a passion for helping others understand complex concepts in STEM subjects.” Having received what he deems an excellent education, Ankit realizes the value of individualized, pointed instruction.
Therefore, as a tutor now, Ankit integrates various teaching methods, resources, and technology to cater to diverse learning preferences and to optimize the learning experience for every student. In addition, he encourages active participation and independent exploration, empowering students to take ownership of their journey and develop a lifelong passion for learning. He says, “When I do my job well, there is nothing better than witnessing the transformative impact it has on students' confidence and understanding.”
Throughout his school years, Ankit was active in badminton, cricket, volleyball, and table tennis. He remains quite active, and one can still find him often on a cricket field or an outdoor volleyball court. He also runs at least 15 miles per week and enjoys testing his skills at investing in financial markets.
