PrepNow Tutor - Megan R.
Megan is a teacher who prides herself on efficiency and productivity. She holds a BS in biology and a BS in health sciences, along with a minor in Spanish, from Cleveland State University. Since 2017, she has worked as a teacher of math, biology, and chemistry courses to students in grades 5 to 12. As a math instructor, she has taught pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, calculus, and statistics. In addition, she has years of experience as a test prep tutor, having worked with students to improve on the PSAT, SAT, ACT, as well as SAT subject areas.
Megan’s approach to tutoring is perhaps best exemplified by the fact that she identifies herself as “a mother and teacher.” Indeed, as a spouse of an active military member and a mother of four, Megan has to be adaptable and methodical in her own life, and she brings those skills to bear to help her students. She believes that the best way to adapt to students is to truly know them. “I make connections to help students excel and become proud of their work. I get to know my students and help them understand and embrace their unique learning styles,” she says. In doing so, Megan has found that students are more likely to seek out improvements and make their own gains.
When not helping her students, Megan loves to spend time with her children, always cheering them on at their various sporting events. A former cheerleader and gymnast herself, Megan can still tumble and enjoys showing her daughter the tricks of the trade. In her rather rare personal time, Megan enjoys reading suspense novels and watching her favorite show, Friends, to see what wisecracks her favorite character Chandler will unleash.
