Saeed's Bio

Accomplished computer scientist Saeed always pays attention to details—especially when acquiring skills and transferring that knowledge to others. He attended NED University of Engineering & Technology in Pakistan, where he earned his bachelor’s in mechanical engineering. After graduating, Saeed joined the NED University faculty where he taught for two years. Saeed received a scholarship recognized by the Pakistani government to study for his master’s abroad so he moved to the US. He attended the private University of Detroit Mercy and earned a MS in computer aided design and computer aided manufacturing.

After completing his graduate program, Saeed was hired by King Saud University in Saudi Arabia as a CAD/CAM system administrator. He was later promoted to the mechanical engineering department as a faculty member. Aside from teaching, Saeed has also served as a consultant in addition to designing and maintaining various software systems. His teaching experience is focused on science and mathematics—primarily for 8th-12th graders. Saeed has taught everything from algebra and geometry to physics, trigonometry, and calculus.

“My teaching and tutoring style is mostly interactive,” Saeed explains. He makes a habit of involving his student in the teaching process. Often this means relating theory to practical applications. To make this more accessible, Saeed teaches students how to connect theory to their everyday lives. He wants to demonstrate ways to “make use of the knowledge they acquire during their study and how to implement it in real life.” He’s also not afraid to tell a good joke!

As a student, Saeed kept active. He played football, basketball, and baseball. He is a bit more sedentary now—focused on working his mind more than his body. He enjoys reading, watching documentaries, and playing games.
