PrepNow Tutor - Crystal B.
Crystal has worked with students across all grade levels since 2015. She has taught middle school math and ELA. Her experience in diverse classroom settings has allowed her to develop strong instructional and mentoring skills and foster engaging, supportive learning environments, particularly for students who struggle with learning differences like dyslexia and autism.
She earned a BA in business administration from Tarleton State University and has been working in education ever since. She is currently on track to earn a master’s in business administration in fall 2027.
Crystal began teaching because she has always enjoyed helping students learn, grow, and build confidence in their abilities. Her proudest moment as a teacher involved helping students achieve a 100% pass rate on Texas’ STAAR assessment. “This accomplishment was especially meaningful because it reflected the hard work, dedication, and growth of both my students and me, and it showed that every student can succeed when given the right support and encouragement,” she notes.
Crystal describes her teaching and tutoring style as “student-centered, engaging, and supportive, with a focus on meeting individual learning needs while building confidence and critical-thinking skills.” For her, leaning into students’ strengths and promoting clear, productive communication are key to fostering growth and long-term learning. “I believe every student can succeed when provided with clear instruction, encouragement, and meaningful learning opportunities that connect to their strengths and goals,” she concludes.
As a student, she played college volleyball and basketball. A diligent student, she spends much of her free time these days learning new skills and studying for her master’s.
