After college, she joined Teachers of Tomorrow to earn her teaching license as soon as possible, and she’s currently employed full-time in the special education department at a middle school as an Inclusion Teacher Assistant.
“I started tutoring to give additional help to students who could benefit from it,” Dejah says. “I wanted my students to be able to reach their full potential, and giving them any additional help in their studies will help them accomplish it.” Throughout her career, Dejah has tutored students across all core subjects, but most frequently in reading and math. She’s an excellent test prep tutor because she’s an expert at guiding students in the way that best fits each individual.
Dejah’s tutoring style balances firm expectations with encouragement. “My teaching style is strict, but encouraging,” Dejah says. “I enjoy pushing my students beyond what they believe they’re capable of, helping them perform at their highest level. I teach my students this way because I know they all have the ability to reach great heights, and all they need is a little push.” Dejah loves teaching and tutoring because it helps her aid the future leaders of the world. “It gives me great joy and fulfillment knowing that I am helping someone learn new skills and subjects.”
In high school, Dejah was a member of the National Honor Society chapter and graduated in the top 15% of her graduating class. Outside of work, she enjoys playing video games, reading, listening to music, sewing, and knitting. “One fun fact is that I am a self-taught knitter.”
