PrepNow Tutor - Jad A.

Jad is a patient and adaptable tutor who enjoys helping students build confidence and reach their academic goals. “I’m passionate about education and committed to supporting each student’s unique learning journey,” Jad says. He holds a BS in neuroscience from DePaul University. Since graduating, he has worked as a medical assistant in both an acute hospital setting and an outpatient clinic; additionally, he has tutored the MCAT, ACT, and SAT test prep to high school and college students. “I strive to constantly grow at both a professional and personal level, and I am always eager to learn,” Jad says.
Jad started tutoring through DePaul University’s outreach program, working with prospective students on STEM subjects and test prep. He quickly discovered his love for breaking down tough concepts and seeing students gain confidence. “One of my proudest moments was when a student who had been struggling with test anxiety improved their ACT score by a significant increase; they told me it was the first time they felt smart and in control during a test,” Jad shares.
When tutoring, Jad uses a student-centered, adaptive approach that focuses on building confidence and mastering test-taking strategies. “I tailor sessions to each student’s learning style and focus on understanding concepts, not just memorizing answers,” he explains. “I believe education should empower students to think independently and approach challenges with confidence.” Always, when tutoring, Jad focuses on clear explanations to make challenging material easier to understand.
In high school, Jad earned a Certificate of Biliteracy in Spanish. He played soccer and participated in chess, track, pre-health club, and Doctors Without Borders. Lately, he enjoys swimming and boxing, reading science fiction and romance novels, and spending time with his cat Ozzy.
“I am a Syrian American who has been exposed to a variety of cultures across the globe,” Jad says. “I speak three languages, including English, Arabic, and Spanish.”
