Osagie's Bio

A recent college graduate, Osagie loves helping his students master challenging concepts and watching their confidence grow. “I've developed a talent for breaking down complex ideas into digestible pieces and I'm committed to empowering the next generation with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to achieve their dreams and make a positive impact on the world.” He holds a BS in neuroscience with minors in chemistry and data science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Since graduating, he has worked as an ophthalmic technician and tutor while applying to medical school. “I also spend much of my time advising college students on their pre-medical journey,” Osagie says. Osagie has been accepted into his top medical school and will begin his studies in Fall 2025.

Osagie started tutoring in ninth grade as part of different clubs and honors societies at school. “I always had a knack for developing a strong understanding of the class material and enjoyed explaining to my peers,” Osagie says. “My proudest moments as a tutor are when I see a student using an example I taught them or a picture I drew for them to explain a concept to another student. This ‘ripple effect’ of knowledge sharing shows me that I'm not just helping individual students grasp difficult concepts, but also fostering a collaborative learning environment where students feel empowered to help each other succeed.”

Throughout his tutoring career, Osagie has tutored test prep, high school math and science, and college-level physics, chemistry, and biology. He has also worked as a teaching assistant in college-level computer science classes and neuroscience courses. His teaching philosophy emphasizes developing problem-solving skills rather than memorizing isolated solutions. “By focusing on core analytical strategies and critical thinking, I empower students to approach new challenges with confidence and creativity,” Osagie says. “Through this methodology, students learn to master not just their current coursework, but also develop the intellectual tools needed for long-term academic success.”

As a student, Osagie participated in track and field, volleyball, a cappella, and hospital volunteering. In college, he was in Honors Carolina and was the recipient of the Kevin Reichardt Carolina Scholarship.
