PrepNow Tutor - Mohamed A.

Mohamed has taught college-level topics in math and biology and worked with students in the K-12th grades in English and math. He received a BS in biology from the University of Massachusetts Boston, where he began tutoring as a work-study student. As of winter 2025, Mohamed is a professional tutor at Roxbury Community College, where he focuses on biology, algebra, and pre-calculus. He also has K-12 tutoring experience in English, biology, and math (algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and pre-calculus).
Mohamed's approach focuses on adaptability and active practice. "I make sure to prompt and walk the student through the question step-by-step, ensuring they're engaged every step of the way," he says. He uses scaffolding to build on prior knowledge, allowing students to feel confident in their conceptual understanding and application of new skills. He will also often assign students homework on things they may need more practice on.
In school, Mohamed ran track and field. In his free time, he's a big reader and fond of learning new skills. "I am constantly learning something new via online lectures as well as articles," he says. Fun fact: Mohamed started a tourism business in Rwanda!
