PrepNow Tutor - Carter C.
Scoring in the 99th percentile on the ACT and 98th percentile on the MCAT, Carter knows his way around standardized testing! He holds a BS in biophysical chemistry from the University of Arkansas and a master’s in teaching from Missouri State University. A helper by nature, he eschewed medical school to follow his passion for teaching. He taught at his alma mater for nearly seven years! In addition to tutoring, he works as an engineering technician and is earning an engineering degree.
Carter’s approach is methodical and adaptive. Understanding the importance of strong foundational skills in math and science, he’s quick to assess what his students need most and goes from there. He regularly checks in with his students to ensure they’re following along before practicing more complicated skills. Ultimately, he wants his students to confidently apply new concepts and grow into lifelong learners. “I believe everyone can achieve. Everyone can learn. And everyone, including myself, always has more to learn," he concludes.
As a result of his stellar test scores and grades, he earned the titles of Honors College Fellow and National Merit Scholar in high school. His GPA earned him the title of valedictorian in his graduating class and, later, he graduated Cum Laude from the University of Arkansas.
A self-proclaimed “lover of reading, learning, and all things nerdy,” Carter loves playing board games, playing video games, and reading sci-fi fantasy books in his spare time.
