PrepNow Tutor - Zoe F.
Zoe has myriad experience as a teacher and tutor. She holds a BA in elementary education from George Mason University. This educational focus does not, however, reflect the full range of her educational abilities. It is true that, based on her degree focus, she has worked as lead instructor at preschools and daycares; and she currently works as a kindergarten instructor at a public school. That said, she also tutored for a learning center that served all grade levels, K-12, and she has previous test prep experience with the SAT, ACT, and ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery). Because of this varied training, Zoe has worked with many students exhibiting ADHD, autism, and other learning differences and is comfortable doing so in the future.
Zoe calls herself a sincere and brave person, and she asks students to be genuine and courageous enough to follow her lead. First, she asks them to take a leap of faith to share their needs and preferences; and then, she asks for a little time to figure out the best path, which is based on initial interactions. She says, “I take a few sessions to observe and see how the student learns best. And, when it comes to test prep, I have noticed that the way a student learns best in school transfers over to test prep.” Because of this approach, Zoe has created many different approaches for working with students, among them a hands-on and visual style that derives from her own learning sensibilities.
Away from the classroom, Zoe still counts herself a theater aficionado, having acted in high school. She still loves all things theatrical, particularly musicals, including her favorite, Anastasia. She also likes to capture reality as a photographer, taking her camera to many natural settings to find the beauty in life. She recently brought a bit of the natural into her home, a puppy named Millie, with whom Zoe spends much time, indeed.
