PrepNow Tutor - Michael F.
Michael graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a degree in zoology. After earning his degree, he worked as a marine biologist and in the corporate world. While a marine biologist, he had the privilege of providing support for a research project that resulted in the lead researcher being awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology for discoveries about how nerve cells work in the body. He began tutoring in 2012 and has never looked back!
Over the past ten years, Michael has worked with more than 100 students, ranging from "whiz-kid" students headed to top Ivy League schools, to students who were struggling just to cope with high school. “I take great satisfaction in being a helpful, constructive influence in the lives of the full spectrum of students. It is especially important to be able to help students who, through having poor teachers in the past, or through lack of self-confidence, need a teacher who can encourage them as well as teach them. All kids can learn, if given clear, patient, understanding teaching.” Michael applies a comfortable, easy-to-take instructional approach, mixed with humor. He is proud of the fact that he is helping high school students reach their full score potential and get into their colleges of choice.
Michael enjoys watching “Jeopardy!” and "competing" with the contestants from home. Throughout his life, he has stayed active by running, boxing, and scuba diving. In addition to attending his grandchildren's sports events, he also enjoys going deep-sea fishing.
