PrepNow Tutor - Andrew R.
Andrew is a fun and easy going tutor who enjoys learning and teaching others. He attended the University of California, Los Angeles, where he earned his bachelor's degree with a major in bioengineering and a minor in mathematics. Prior to attending UCLA, he was the recipient of the $10,000 Student Scholarship Award in Chemistry From Saddleback Community College after scoring in the 100th percentile on the standardized organic chemistry exam.
Currently, in addition to tutoring, Andrew is working on a company that focuses on education management. He has taught himself several coding languages for website development.
Andrew first started tutoring while in college. Now with ten years of experience, he has worked with countless students ranging from the ages of thirteen to forty-five. "I focus on creating a fun learning environment," he says when asked about his tutoring style. "Students grasp new material much faster and develop a deeper understanding when they are engaged and feel the information will be useful in real life situations." He has tutored algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, chemistry, and physics and most of his students have increased their grades by 10% or more.
"I enjoy helping students understand new concepts and how they can be applied to daily life," Andrew says.
In high school, Andrew played basketball. He enjoys camping, board games, hiking, household repairs, billiards, sports, and hanging out with friends for leisure times. He once played on a basketball team with Jared Dudley who is currently in the NBA.
