PrepNow Tutor - Ron G.
Calm and good-humored, Ron enjoys demystifying math and the SAT process for students. Ron received his BA from Rutgers College, majoring in communication and minoring in philosophy and film studies. Ron later achieved his MEd from the University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Education. Ron’s career is split between tutoring students and screenwriting for TV and movies.
His interest in a career in education was sparked when Ron started substitute teaching for elementary and high schools. As a tutor, Ron has done test prep and high school math, tutoring for various learning centers both at university and in the community. He is adept at both in-person and online tutoring.
Ron’s tutoring style is calm and focused on creating a productive and relaxed learning environment. During tutorials, Ron finds students learn best when not placed under an inordinate amount of pressure. For this reason, he focuses on letting them explore the material and build study skills at a reasonable pace. “Assuming students are showing up prepared and willing to work, no matter how many errors they make, they can do no wrong as far as I'm concerned,” he says.
Ron is a passionate writer, having written dozens of screenplays, ten of which have been sold or optioned. While attending the University of Pennsylvania he received an award for a short story he wrote. It's no surprise Ron enjoys going to the movies, but he can also be found jamming at concerts and supporting his favorite team at sporting events. At home, he likes to play video games with his nephews and is a major Star Wars fan.
