PrepNow Tutor - Anna M.

A lover of grilled cheese, Anna has been teaching for over a decade and tutoring test prep since 2016. Anna received her BA in architecture from Clemson University and went on to pursue a master’s in architecture at the University of Texas. While working on her bachelor’s, she was awarded the National Merit Scholar Faculty Scholarship Award which is an award given to the student with the highest GPA in their class.
Anna has excelled in both the architecture world and in her teaching and tutoring. She interned at a firm who later received the AIA Architecture Firm Award (a prestigious national award in her industry), and has currently works as a registered architect for a small studio on diverse projects ranging from furniture design and art installations to office buildings.
When Anna was in high school, she joined her school’s Teacher Cadet program and acted as an assistant in elementary art classes. This sparked her love of teaching, and later during her masters, she worked with dozens of undergraduates as a design mentor and teaching assistant. She has been tutoring test prep since 2016. Anna describes her teaching style as “holistic”. While she recognizes and caters to multiple learning styles, “in my experience, the most successful retention and problem-solving happens when we're able to connect our brain's creative, intuitive side with its linear, analytical side. Both are equally valuable and strongest when working together,” she shares.
While in school herself, Anna played varsity tennis, was an officer in the Future Educators of America organization, and lived abroad in Barcelona for a semester to continue her studies of Spanish language, culture and film. In her free time, she enjoys studying philosophy and literature, watching films (especially ones made in the 1970’s), and traveling.
