PrepNow Tutor - Jaron R.
A hard-working, passionate tutor, Jaron has several years of experience tutoring physics and mathematics to high school and college-level students. He earned a BS in physics with a minor in mathematics from North Carolina State University (NCSU). In addition to working in local tutoring centers, he has hands-on experience as a system operator in the renewable energy industry, which gives him a leg up when it comes to demonstrating real-world applications of complex concepts to students.
Jaron’s proudest moment was when he helped a student pass his pre-calculus course. “The student, at the beginning of our time working together, was convinced that he would not pass the course. With my assistance, he was able to pass, which was very meaningful for both of us,” he recalls.
Jaron's tutoring style is student-focused and dynamic. “I adapt my teaching to each student to facilitate the best and most efficient tutoring possible,” he explains. “Every student is unique, and therefore needs and deserves individualized teaching methods.” Since play can be key to deeper learning and more creative thinking, he puts in extra effort to make each session lively and fun. “I believe that education can be fun and rewarding for both student and instructor,” he adds.
He’s proud to share that he graduated cum laude from NCSU and was recognized by the dean of the physics department. In college, he also worked as an undergraduate researcher for two years, getting hands-on mentorship from two nuclear physics professors.
Outside of work, he enjoys dabbling in code. “I am a self-taught intermediate SQL developer,” he notes. He also loves installing and playing mods for his favorite video game series, writing, and engaging in self-care activities. Fun fact: “I have learned some Russian for the purposes of modding one of my favorite game franchises.”
