A patient teacher who excels at explaining mathematics in easy-to-understand ways, Aaron holds a BA magna cum laude in integrated mathematics from Kent State University and an MA in education through the principalship program at the University of Akron. He also completed fifteen credit hours of educational technology courses at the University of California, San Diego Division of Extended Studies. Aaron has been a high school teacher since 2000.

Aaron has been teaching math since he was a junior in high school, tutoring in high school and college until he transitioned to teaching full-time after graduation. During his long career in education, he has taught pre-algebra, algebra I, geometry, algebra II, pre-calculus, calculus, and AP Calculus (both AB and BC). He has also instructed in trigonometry. He currently teaches high school math at two career tech education programs and considers technology an integral part of his classroom. “I am good at relating to my students and discovering how to best help them learn and use material,” Aaron says. As a teacher, Aaron teaches a flipped classroom where students watch videos of him teaching the material at home. He then tutors them on their assignments during class timem both in group and one-on-one settings. “In this way, I can maximize the students' time and ability to ask me questions about the material,” he explains. “In person, I ask my students a lot of questions and draw upon their prior knowledge for them to deduce new information on their own.”

In high school, Aaron played in every band that his school had to offer, ran cross country, and was on the swim team. In college, he participated in a jazz ensemble and played on an interscholastic broomball team. He enjoys playing the guitar, hiking, and kayaking. Outside of the classroom, he is the head coach of the girls' cross-country team and the girls' track and field team. “The highest altitude that I have been with both feet on the ground is at 12,008 feet above sea level,” he says.
