PrepNow Tutor - Josh M.
A passionate chemist, Joshua loves learning and helping the world combat climate change. He holds a BS in chemistry and data science from Lake Forest College and has published a paper from his undergraduate chemistry research. A recent graduate, Joshua has been tutoring since 2020. “My proudest moment as a tutor was when I helped one of my students who was failing their chemistry class pass with an A,” Joshua says. “They really got invested in the subject after that.”
Throughout his tutoring career, Joshua has taught high school STEM classes and college-level calculus, general chemistry, inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, and organic chemistry. He’s also tutored ACT and SAT prep. Joshua’s tutoring style centers on positive reinforcement. “Sometimes students just need to be told that they can do it and to be confident in themselves,” he says. “I believe that every student can successfully retain and complete any class they put their mind to.”
Joshua played soccer in high school and college. He was on the dean’s list all four years of college and received the American Chemical Society Inorganic Chemistry award. Joshua loves to play soccer, read, make pottery and stained glass, and enjoy nature through camping and hiking. “I have hiked 23/58 of the Colorado fourteeners.” He also enjoys going to the gym and playing tennis and pickleball with his friends. “I want to change the world positively through inorganic chemistry,” Joshua shares.
