PrepNow Tutor - Ruby C.
Ruby has an impressive background in her own education and in that of others. She holds a BEd in physical science and a MS in physics from the St. Thomas College of Teacher Education, Pala (in India), and an additional BS in physics with information technology from St. George’s College (also in India). She has also been helping students meet their educational goals since 2011. She first worked for years as a physics lecturer. Since 2019, Ruby has worked as a subject-area expert in physics and math and as an online tutor for a major educational company. She brings many years of experience to StudyPoint, eager to aid a new pool of math and physics students.
Ruby began teaching and tutoring as a kind of challenge—she wanted to make difficult concepts transparent and accessible to students. As she dove into that challenge, she learned that teaching can truly inspire confidence and curiosity. She also learned that to provide such inspiration to her students, she must rely on patience and pointed interaction. She says, “I encourage questions and try to make lessons clear and relatable. I believe learning works best when students feel confident, supported, and curious about the subject.” She has found that this strategy has led to many positive experiences for both herself and her students.
Ruby’s interests have remained relatively consistent since she was in high school. There, for example, she ran as a part of her school’s relay team, and she still enjoys running and even the occasional relay event. She was also part of the math and science clubs in high school, and that obviously impacted her career path. Indeed, she says that her curiosity in those areas is unchecked, as she likes to investigate general science and math topics for fun.
