Ky's Bio

A tutor who finds hope in the next generation, Ky holds an AS in mathematics from Dodge City Community College and BA in education from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. A recent graduate as of 2025, Ky held numerous teaching internships throughout college, assisting in the instruction of many math courses and teaching a full pre-calculus course. As a tutor, Ky has helped hundreds of students master difficult coursework.

"My motivation for teaching and tutoring is quite simple,” Ky says, “I enjoyed helping my peers learn at a young age, and so I wanted to do it as a living. I knew this was my calling by the seventh grade, and so I've been working towards this for a long time, and now here I am.” Ky has taught middle school and high school math, including IB mathematics and AP Calculus BC; he has tutored college-level English composition, algebra through Calculus III, Computer Concepts and Applications, and Chemistry and Engineering Physics I.

Ky’s tutoring style is largely based on guiding his students to answers through questions centered on thought process and logical reasoning. “It is one thing to be able to memorize through rote exercise, but that does not enable the learner to internalize and remember the information for when it matters,” Ky explains. “I believe in taking the time to let learners process information. When trying to understand the content, it's important to me that a student confidently understands material, and it is through that confidence that they will successfully complete work in a timed format.”

Ky was awarded the presidential scholarship by his high school for his high-achieving coursework. He participated in Scholar's Bowl and Gaming Club in high school and was one of the few in the chess club at his community college.

"My first passion was origami, which I picked up during an activity to make 1000 cranes for a peer in the hospital,” Ky shares. He also enjoys photography, cooking, playing the guitar, and playing games of all kinds. “I'm someone who is driven by the words ‘never stop moving forward,’ someone who earnestly wishes to better the world through education,” Ky says.
