PrepNow Tutor - Aaron B.
Amiable and personable, Aaron has tutored various math and physics courses as both a volunteer and professional tutor. He graduated in 2024 from Boston University with a bachelor's in physics. While he sporadically tutored many fellow students in math classes in high school, Aaron got a true taste of tutoring in college, when he joined a club in his junior year to tutor underclassmen in physics. "My proudest moment as a tutor is always when my students are able to answer their questions themselves," he proclaims. Since graduating, Aaron has been tutoring AP Physics and AP Calculus.
"I would describe my tutoring style as layered," says Aaron. Valuing process over product, he equips students to eventually answer questions themselves when they are stuck on a problem. "The ability to work through the problems is what I emphasize when tutoring, and when I see that students have gained that ability it means that they're almost at a point where they no longer need tutoring," he explains. Aaron uses humor and draws concrete illustrations of physical phenomena to clarify more complex ideas. His ultimate goal is to foster independence, making him help obsolete to his students.
In high school, Aaron participated in cross country and lacrosse; in college, he joined the Chess Club and the Photon Club (a physics organization). He has also volunteered for his local food bank, a nearby vegetable farm, and the Key Club.
In his spare time, Aaron enjoys crocheting, painting, and reading, especially during colder weather; during the warmer months he plays frisbee golf, swims, and hikes. "A fun fact about myself is that I have jumped off a bridge into a lake before!"
