PrepNow Tutor - Sanjeev R.
Sanjeev is an engineer and management consultant who taught various science and finance courses while in graduate school. He holds many degrees, including a BE in chemical engineering from the University of Mumbai in India; an MS in chemical engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology; an MBA from the University of Chicago; and a PhD in chemical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. His decade of experience working in energy and petrochemical industries allows him to motivate students through real-world applications.
Sanjeev has taught financial accounting, chemical reactor design, chemical process control, and material and energy balance. He earned various awards while at Rensselaer, like the Outstanding Teaching Assistant award and the Founders Award of Excellence.
Sanjeev uses a question-and-answer format to explain the course material and keep students engaged. "I like to draw analogies with examples from everyday life, which helps the students understand the material better," he says. "As a tutor, I am also very patient because each student learns at a different rate," he adds.
While earning his master's degree, Sanjeev was head of the Indian Students Association. Currently, he enjoys swimming, reading (politics, non-fiction, and scientific literature), and traveling. "I love the outdoors, especially the mountains, and like traveling with my family to see new destinations and countries," he says. Fun fact: Sanjeev has a "deep interest in decarbonization."
