PrepNow Tutor - Rahman I.
"I am a results-driven professional with a passion for STEM and education," says tutor Rahman, who greatly promotes lifelong learning. He has tutored students of various ages in math and science. He received his associate's degree in chemistry from Miami Dade College and, later, obtained a BS in chemistry from the University of Florida. As of Spring 2024, he is taking a gap year to apply to graduate programs in biomedical sciences.
Rahman developed an interest in tutoring during his first year in college after his college advisor encouraged him. "I have been tutoring math and science subjects ever since!" Throughout college, he finessed his teaching skills while working at the campus tutoring center. He has tutored many STEM topics, including algebra, trigonometry, geometry, pre-calculus, and calculus. He's also adept at teaching ACT science as well as SAT math, physics, and chemistry. Over the years, Rahman has worked with middle schoolers, high schoolers, and college students with various tutoring companies.
Rahman takes a student-centered approach. "My teaching style is centered on facilitating understanding through interactive and personalized guidance of the student," he explains. "I believe in fostering a supportive environment that encourages curiosity and critical thinking." His approach is rooted in the philosophy that education should empower individuals to explore ideas, apply knowledge creatively, and develop lifelong learning skills. "By adapting to each learner’s unique needs and preferences, I aim to make education both effective and engaging," he concludes.
While in high school, Rahman participated in ping pong and soccer events. He also engaged in math competitions and won many awards for his school.
To relax his mind, he loves oil painting, creating papier mache art, and sketching portraits. "I also enjoy reading science fiction novels and watching sci-fi movies."
