An experienced tutor, Christine believes that, along with teaching concepts and strategies, helping students build confidence in their abilities is the key to success. “When one of my students says, ‘I feel so ready!’ I know I’ve done my job,” Christine says. Throughout her lessons, she focuses on helping students understand the “why” as well as the “how,” so they can apply what they learn to new and different types of problems. Over the years, Christine has helped more than 100 students reach their academic goals.
Christine earned her BS in computer science with a minor in mathematics from DePauw University, where she graduated summa cum laude and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. Before becoming a tutor, Christine had a twenty-five-year career in IT. As a business owner and consultant, she worked with over fifteen different companies—both in the U.S. and abroad—learning new corporate cultures, hierarchies, and workstreams to maximize results. Christine’s primary responsibility was developing and conducting training for users at all levels, ensuring adoption and full understanding prior to program, project, or system deployment.
Christine has been tutoring SAT prep, ACT prep, and high school math for the last decade, both privately and through premier programs. "I love when students suddenly ‘get’ something that has been eluding them," she says. "And I love how excited they get when their scores improve and they can get into that college they really wanted."
