An admissions consultant with over thirty years of experience, Diane is passionate about matching students with the perfect school. Diane holds a BA in psychology from Purdue University, a BS in community health promotion and biology from Purdue University, and an MS in counseling from Capella University. She also earned a post-master's school counseling certification from Johns Hopkins University. Throughout her career, Diane has helped hundreds of students matriculate into their dream colleges. “I love when the lightbulb goes off for a student and they realize they DO have a story to share that is uniquely theirs!” Diane says.
Diane is an expert in athletic recruiting, military academies, international students, and boarding and prep schools. She also has strong experience mentoring students with mental health and addiction struggles. She has toured over 500 colleges, universities, and boarding schools, and, as a result, can speak firsthand about the culture on the campuses she recommends. Whether a student is considering military academies, large state schools, or small liberal arts colleges, Diane helps them build a school list that honors where they are currently and where they hope to go; she accomplishes this by getting to know her students personally and academically. Diane says, “I love when I introduce a new school to a student that was not on their radar, and they ultimately enroll there and eventually text me saying, ‘This place feels like HOME. I love XX College!’ It's the best feeling in the world!”
When asked to share a success story, Diane recalls working with a student who had dreamed of attending Harvard for many years. “Her CV was strong, her grades excellent, and she was very focused on her future plans,” Diane explains. “She was not a strong writer, but she was willing to put the time into drafts, took constructive criticism, and revised, revised, revised.” Ultimately, this student was admitted to Harvard, just finished her first year, and is so happy she spent all those hours on essays. “My philosophy for education and consulting has always been to find the best school for each student—where they can grow, thrive, be challenged, and find community!”
In her free time, Diane loves reading and goes through about 200 books a year. She also enjoys swimming, surfing, and tennis. As a mother of two college kids, Diane knows firsthand the stress the application process can put on a student and a family. She prides herself on helping her students stay on track and manage their stress.
